RJ Racing is Ready to Defend Their 2011 E3 Victory

2012 WERC E3 Champs Look to Repeat Their 2011 25-Hour Success

NOVEMBER 29, 2012 – RJ Racing (RJR) is pleased to announce that they will be providing comprehensive written and pictorial coverage of the National Auto Sport Association’s (NASA) 25 Hours of Thunderhill on TheRaceSite.com, InTunedOnline.com, and RJRacing.net. Throughout the event, RJ Racing will be blogging as well as providing updates via its social networking channels, providing exciting behind-the-scenes access to race fans around world. RJR’s media team will also be gathering interviews throughout the paddock from the 70+ entries and posting them on RJRacing.net.

This year is a special one for the longest sports car race in North America as it is the 10th Annual NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill. The RJ Racing team is ready for its fifth consecutive trip to the extremely competitive race, and stands poised to defend its E3 victory from 2011. Adding to their confidence is their success in the 2012 NASA Western Endurance Racing Championship (WERC) in which they came away as E3 Champions after the six round series. “Having not missed a podium all year, our expectations are really high because we know what we can achieve,” commented John Gibson, Team Owner and Driver.

But you can’t rely on past results in this race. Constant improvement is the name of the game. Since most of the race is run during the nighttime hours, RJR has looked to Rigid Industries and their high quality LED products to pierce the darkness and will once again partner with Hoosier Tires to maximize grip on the 3-mile circuit. Pushing the pedals for RJ Racing will be a team of four drivers, including team co-owners Rob Gibson and John Gibson and RJR driving veterans Craig Evans and Jaime Florence. On top of having solid drivers, RJR has not forgotten the importance of staying out on track. All year long the team has worked to streamline pit stops and gain every second possible on their competitors.

Those extra seconds will matter again this year with the E3 class being the most competitive class on track: no less than 25 cars fighting for the same win. RJR’s #23 Mazda Miata/MX-5 will be just one of 16 NA’s and NB’s that make up the majority of the class. Looking to dethrone the mighty Miatas from the podium are an Acura Integra, several BMW E30’s, a Datsun 510, a Nissan Sentra, a Saturn, a Porsche 944, and a Mazda 2. Check the RJ Racing Facebook (facebook.com/rj.racing) and Twitter (@rjracing) for behind the scenes coverage starting December 6, 2012. Green flag drops on December 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
