RJ Racing Is Headed To The Great Salt Lake
RJ Racing (RJR) is heading to Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park for round four of National Auto Sport Association’s (NASA) Western Endurance Racing Championship (WERC) Series. Round four will be a 6-hour race around the 3.08-mile Perimeter Course. Green Flag is scheduled to drop at 6:00pm on Saturday, August 10, 2013. Follow RJR on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay updated on the race.
During the previous two visits to the wide open and fast Miller Motorsports Park the team placed 2nd in the 2009 Performance Touring “E” Championship and were the 2010 Time Trial “E” Champions. With this past success in other events, RJR is confident they can have the same success in this year’s endurance event.
It has been over six months since the WERC and 25 Hours of Thunderhill winning #23 RJR Mazda Miata has seen track time. During the first half of 2013 year the team has been busy with customer cars to grow the off-track side of the business while further developing and improving the #23 RJR Mazda Miata’s chassis on the weekends. The team will be out at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA on Saturday, August 3, 2013, putting the #23 RJR Mazda Miata through its paces in preparation for Utah.
Located just 35 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City in Tooele, Utah, Miller Motorsports Park is a state-of-the-art road racing facility for automobiles, motorcycles, and karts. The full course is the longest in North America at 4.5 miles. Its 23 very fast turns and wide open front straight have hosted the likes of the American Le Mans Series, NASCAR, AMA Superbikes, and the Rolex Sports Car Series. In the heart of Utah’s Tooele (too-el-ə) Vallley, Miller offers teams beautiful scenic views of the Oquirrh Mountains.
