Team Arrives at Auto Club Speedway
The team set out on Friday for Auto Club Speedway to complete a lengthy agenda prior to racing on Saturday and Sunday: rechecking all setup specs, making final preparations for the races, and completing the required annual technical inspection.
The team arrived at the track ready for anything. And we got something right off the bat. A routine inspection revealed a seal on the right front brake caliper showing unusual wear. It probably would have lasted the weekend without causing problems, but “probably” is not a word we’re comfortable with when it comes to the braking system. The caliper was rebuilt on site and re-installed, which necessitated bleeding the brake system.
This relatively minor setback meant tech was closed by the time we were ready to go, so we’ll complete that first thing tomorrow with plenty of time to get ready for our first warmup laps at 8 a.m.
Remember, you can take the track in your own car at noon on Saturday and Sunday for Parade Laps. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity. RJ Racing will be gridding for its first race of the day just after the Parade Laps. Hope to see you all there.
