Sunday – Warmup Report
The team arrived at the track early Sunday morning. Spirits are normally high, but received an added boost after the team learned of its win in Saturday’s race due to a technical infraction by the winning car.
The morning warmup would be used to scrub in a brand new set of tires for use at the NASA National Races in September.
Scrubbing in race tires is an exercise in controlled aggression. To get the best grip and life out of the rubber, the tires must be brought up to operating temperature gradually, without locking up or spinning the tires–easier said than done on cold tires. Rob also used the session to get reacclimated to the track.
Next up is Qualifying at 10am and an early race at 1pm. Hope to see you all at the track. For directions click here.
